#FMCoronaPark18 Pop-Up Photo Exhibit is the culmination of our collaboration with the Flushing Meadows Corona Park Community Advisory Board (CAB) www.fmcpcommunity.org, and the Queens Museum. The collaboration is an initiative to use NYC parks to promote healthier communities.
The special pop-up exhibit will open on Saturday July 21st 2018 at 11:00am and close Sunday July 22nd at 5:00pm.This exhibit will feature the winning entries of the #FMCoronaPark18 photo contest. Most of the photos selected were taken at the photo walk of the same name on Saturday, June 30th. The exhibit’s theme is to highlight the underappreciated areas of the southern section of Flushing Meadows Corona Park. The contest was open to anyone who uploaded photographs directly to the Instagram social media app,
Adolfo Steve Vazquez and Salvador Espinoza of Queenscapes will lead the curating team, which will also consist of local Queens photographers Roy Martinez, Abdul Moontarin, & Mohammed Hossain. The special pop-up exhibit is also organized and co-curated by Catherine Grau, Public Programs Coordinator at the Queens Museum.
The pop-up photo exhibit is presented by Flushing Meadows Corona Park Community Advisory Board and NYC Parks with support from the Parks Build Healthy Communities Grant, led by Partnerships for Parks and made possible by Building Healthy Communities, an initiative of the Mayor’s Office and the Fund for Public Health NYC.
